Valpierre is conveniently located in the heart of Val d’Isère, yet discretely set back from the road. It is one of the oldest buildings in town, dating as far back as 1750, but behind the golden local stone lies a contemporary interior at the cutting edge of chalet design. The décor brilliantly exploits the ancient fabric of the house: floorboards, beams and exposed stone create a restful backdrop, while contemporary Scandinavian art and carefully chosen fabrics add sumptuous pools of colour and texture.
The living space is open plan, with two magnificent stone fireplaces: one in the drawing room, with its inviting deep sofas and giant plasma screen, one by the sociably large table.
