The mountains are a magical place for children, a winter wonderland of snow. Descent has many years experience in ensuring the whole family has the holiday of a lifetime. Our chalets are filled with books, games, sledges, and the latest films and entertainment systems.
New for this season we have joined forces with Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall, author of The Good Granny Guide: Or How to Be a Modern Grandmother, who is working with our chefs to create meals that will appeal to our demanding younger guests, learn about popular children’s dishes and eating habits and work on meals considerate to children’s allergies.
For those travelling with tiny ones, our baby pack is now more comprehensive than ever, allowing you to fly without those bulky accessories. We can arrange English-speaking nannies at times to suit you and every day our chefs prepare a delicious lunch, tea and early supper - in consultation with you every step of the way.
We have a unique partnership with Norland Nannies to ensure your children get only the best care when you are on the slopes. Emily was Descent's very own Norland Nanny last season and here you can read an account of her experience.
Older children may not always want to sit through supper en famille, so our staff can arrange 'down nights' too, where they can enjoy laid-back food in the comfort of the chalet's cinema room or snug.
And to cap it all, Descent can lay on spellbinding experiences such as flashing through the snow on a husky-led sleigh ride or taking to the skies in a hot-air balloon. Family holidays are the litmus test of service; we take great pride in making sure they are nothing less than perfect.
